On Wednesday, March 19, Oakland County officials honored area long-time Brother Rice Football Coach Albert Fracassa (center) who was named the 2013 National Coach of the Year by USA Today and Student Sports.
He was recognized for his 57-year career and success in high school football. Fracassa will retire as he has completed his 45th and last season at Brother Rice, leaving on a high note with his third consecutive Division 2 State Championship and the 10th Football State Championship in Brother Rice history.
Brother Rice High School’s State Champion team was also recognized during the meeting in the Oakland County Commissioners Auditorium in Pontiac.
Board Chairman Michael J. Gingell (far left) and Commissioner Shelley Goodman Taub (far right) happily presented proclamations to Fracassa and Brother Rice team members (left to right) Christopher Carter, Sage Baltrusaitis, Jack Grisan, and Navin Abro.
