Free Legal Aid Clinic series offered by OCBA

Not everyone can afford to hire an attorney to answer their legal questions. That is why the Oakland County Bar Association (OCBA), in partnership with Oakland County Youth Assistance, will host two free Legal Aid Clinics throughout Oakland County during the month of May. The first will be held on Thursday, May 1, at the Ferndale Public Library. The second clinic will be held Tuesday, May 20, at the St. Joseph Catholic Church in Lake Orion. Both clinics will run from 4:30 to 7 p.m.

During these free clinics, attorneys and legal aid providers will be on site to provide basic legal information as well as brief advice and counsel in the areas of juvenile, family, probate, criminal, general civil and landlord/tenant matters. Oakland County residents with legal questions are urged to attend these clinics and speak with an attorney volunteer or a representative from Legal Aid and Defender Association or the Family Law Assistance Project.

Legal aid clinics will be held:

• Thursday, May 1 – Ferndale Public Library, 222 E. Nine Mile Rd. Ferrndale.

• Tuesday, May 20 – St Joseph Catholic Church, 715 N Lapeer Rd. Lake Orion.

To learn more about the clinics or to register, contact the OCBA at 248-334-3400.
