The sixth annual Swing to Cure Diabetes Golf Outing to benefit the Michigan Comprehensive Diabetes Center and JDRF will take place on Monday, May 19, at the University of Michigan Golf Course.
Swing to Cure Diabetes was founded by former University of Michigan football player and Varnum attorney Rich Hewlett and his late wife, Chris. The couple has raised money and awareness for juvenile diabetes after their son, Jeffrey, was diagnosed with Type 1 diabetes 15 years ago.
Hewlett is a trial attorney who lives and works in Southeast Michigan. He has experience in construction law, business litigation and disputes, contracts and sports law.
Varnum is the lead sponsor of this year’s Swing to Cure Diabetes event.
Spots are limited to 140 golfers. For additional information about how to play, sponsor or register, visit www.swingtocurediabetes.com.
