Detroit bankruptcy trial pushed back to August

DETROIT (AP) - A multiday trial in federal court on Detroit's bankruptcy has been pushed back several weeks.
Judge Steven Rhodes wrote in an order Monday that the hearing on state-appointed emergency manager Kevyn Orr's plan of adjustment now is scheduled to start Aug. 14. The trial had been scheduled to start on July 24.
Rhodes says that in rescheduling the trial's start, he considered the interests of some creditors to prepare for the hearing and the city's delay in producing some documents.
Rhodes will determine if Orr's plan to get Detroit through bankruptcy is feasible and in the best interest of the city's thousands of creditors.
The city also has until July 21 to file a summary of creditor voting on the plan.
