 Grand Rapids Bar Association Committee to review judicial candidates

The Grand Rapids Bar Association's Judicial Candidate Review Committee is beginning the evaluation process for the fitness and suitability of judicial candidates seeking election to the open 63rd Judicial District Court seat, which is currently held by Judge Steven Servaas.  

The 15-member Committee, chaired by James Brady of Dykema Gossett, anticipates completing its work and issuing its ratings prior to the August 5, 2014 primary election.  All six candidates on the ballot are invited to participate in the confidential review and evaluation process.

Strauss elected to membership at Miller Johnson

Attorney Rebecca L. Strauss was elected to Membership at Miller Johnson.  She is a member of the firm’s employment and labor and litigation sections.  
 
Strauss is a member of the American Bar Association, State Bar of Michigan and the Kalamazoo County Bar Association.  She earned her bachelor’s degree from Michigan State University’s James Madison College and Honors College, and her Juris Doctorate magna cum laude from the University of Michigan Law School in 2002.  Strauss clerked for The Honorable Ralph B. Guy, United States Court of Appeals for the Sixth Circuit from 2005-2007, and for The Honorable Nancy G. Edmunds, United States District Circuit, Eastern District of Michigan from 2002-2004.

Strauss is a member of the Kalamazoo Human Resources Management Association and Inforum – a professional women’s alliance.  She is sought after as a speaker and author on employment issues including wage and hour and harassment.
