Attorney Ryan Fishman running for State Senate, 13th district

Ryan Fishman, Democratic candidate for State Senate in the 13th District, recently reported strong fundraising numbers that show his campaign is continuing to build support throughout the district.
"Oakland County needs a leader who is willing to shake up the status quo and put fresh ideas for the future ahead of party politics and personal interests," Fishman said. "The numbers we filed show that the people of Oakland County agree, and are ready for change."
Fishman's campaign reported raising $103,922.83 in the second quarter, with $74,277.55 cash on hand. The strong fundraising results are a continuation of the incredible momentum Fishman's campaign has garnered in recent months.
Fishman has already earned broad support from community and business leaders. He is honored to have the endorsements of Congressman Sander Levin, Mayor Mike Duggan, and Oakland County Treasurer Andy Meisner.
Fishman studied at the S.I. Newhouse School of Public Communications and the Maxwell School of Citizenship and Public Affairs at Syracuse University in New York, graduating with a Bachelor of Arts in 2010. He worked as a political reporter, news anchor, and talk show host for Clear Channel Communications in New York, pairing his educational experience and personal insight to provide commentary on the issues impacting the daily lives of his listeners.
Returning to Michigan, Ryan decided to follow in his father's footsteps and pursue a career in law. He attended law school at Wayne State University, receiving his law degree in 2013. During his time in law school, Ryan worked in United States District Court and the Wayne County Prosecutor's Office. After passing the bar, he joined his father in private practice.
Fishman's passion for politics and the law, and his interest in promoting Oakland County and the Metro Detroit area to attract young professionals have inspired Ryan to run for Senate in the 13th District in Oakland County. With his combination of experience and enthusiasm, he hopes to dedicate to continuing to make Oakland County and Michigan an unmatched place to work, live and raise a family.
