Youth Assistance Program receives contribution

On Thursday, July 24, AT&T presented a $15,000 contribution to the Oakland County Youth Assistance Program to support its mission strengthening local families and assisting at-risk youth in Oakland County.

On hand for the check presentation in the Oakland County Board of Commissioners Auditorium in Pontiac were (left to right) caseworker Regan Rockwell, Avondale volunteer Michael Kazyak, Pontiac volunteer Shanda Reardon, caseworker Hank Szlenkier, Pontiac volunteer Joan Legge, Avondale volunteer Officer Joshua Boyce, Oakland County Deputy Court Administrator Lisa Langton, Lake Orion volunteer Janet Wolverton, Lori Doughty of AT&T, Chief of Youth Assistance Mary Schusterbauer, State Rep. Brad Jacobsen, Oakland County Commissioner Shelley Taub, caseworker Cathy Womack, caseworker Gail Innis, Supervisor Patrick Breen, Oxford volunteer Elizabeth Roth, caseworker Mary Stewart, and Oxford volunteer Dallas Ader.

“I have been working with Oakland County Youth Assistance for over 20 years and it is making a real difference for kids who need help and guidance,” said State Rep. Brad Jacobsen (R-Oxford).  “They couldn’t do it without generous partners like AT&T.  We’re incredibly proud of the work this organization and this company are doing right here in our community.”

Youth Assistance works in partnership with the Oakland County Circuit Court, local communities and school boards to strengthen youth and families, and to prevent delinquency, neglect, and abuse through community involvement.
