Man guilty of molesting girl at wife's day care
MOUNT CLEMENS (AP) - A jury has convicted a 67-year-old man of nine counts of criminal sexual conduct for molesting three young girls at his wife's day care center in suburban Detroit.
The Macomb County Circuit Court jury found Stanley Duncan guilty last Friday.
Authorities say Duncan molested girls ages 3 and 4 before his arrest in 2011 and another girl in the late 1990s.
A jury acquitted his 64-year-old wife Vita Duncan of criminal sexual conduct, convicting her of failing to license her day care center in Fraser. Their sentencing is Sept. 4.
A trial was halted in 2012 while prosecutors appealed the judge's refusal to let the youngest girl testify after she said she didn't know the difference between the truth and a lie. Jurors last week heard a reading of her testimony.
