On Wednesday, Aug. 20, 2014, the Oakland County Board of Commissioners presented Fifth Third Bank Michigan State Fair a proclamation recognizing the annual fair and Fifth Third Bank which has become the official sponsor of this Michigan tradition.
On hand for the proclamation presentation in the Oakland County Board of Commissioners Auditorium in Pontiac were (left to right) Michigan State Fair Agriculture, Livestock and Home Arts Director L.C. Scramlin, Michigan State Fair Manager/Member Blair Bowman, Detroit Circus Shriner Joe Kish, Commissioner Kathy S. Crawford, and Detroit Circus Shriner Jim Gotts.
In 2012, the Great Lakes Agricultural Fair was formed to maintain the state’s rich agricultural tradition and the legacy of the original Michigan State Fair.
In 2014, the Fifth Third Bank State Fair continued the re-emergence of the fair that brings family fun and promotes the great agricultural industry of Michigan. It was hosted at the Suburban Collection Showplace in Novi during Labor Day Weekend.
