Meeting to answer questions on new proposed water deal

Oakland County Board Commissioners will host a special informational town hall meeting on Wednesday, Oct. 1, at 6 p.m. at the Farmington Hills City Hall in the Gallery located off of 11 Mile Road and Orchard Lake in Farmington Hills.
Farmington Hills City Manager Steve Brock will welcome the public and speakers to the town hall. Oakland County Chief Deputy County Executive Gerald Poisson and Water Resources Commissioner Jim Nash will discuss the Detroit Water and Sewerage Department, the creation of the new Great Lakes Water Authority and what the deal means for Oakland County residents. West Bloomfield Township's Chief Utilities Director Ed Haapala from the township's water department will also speak at this event
Residents will have an opportunity to ask questions to get a clear understanding about the proposed deal and voice concerns. Farmington Hills and Farmington city leaders are welcome to share insight at this special town hall meeting.
The public is encouraged to come ready to participate as this will be an interactive session with county leadership.
Commissioner Bill Dwyer represents the cities of Farmington and Farmington Hills, Southfield Township including the villages of Beverly Hills, Bingham Farms and Franklin in District #14.
Commissioner Marcia Gershenson represents the communities of Farmington Hills and West Bloomfield Township in District #13
Commissioner Janet Jackson represents the communities of Farmington Hills and Southfield in District #21.
Commissioner John A. Scott represents the communities of Keego Harbor, Orchard Lake Village, Sylvan Lake, Waterford Township and West Bloomfield Township in District #5.
Commissioner Christine A. Long represents a portion of West Bloomfield in District #7.
