State Bar to present panel discussions for reporters
The State Bar of Michigan Law and the Media Committee and the Society of Professional Journalists, Detroit, have collaborated to create "Covering the courts: What Detroit's top legal minds think." The program will consist of two panel discussions moderated by Michigan Radio Political Commentator and Wayne State University Professor Jack Lessenberry that will feature Michigan attorneys and judges.
The first panel will feature U.S. Attorney Barbara McQuade, Eastern District of Michigan, and Wayne County Prosecutor Kym Worthy. The discussion will take place from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. on Monday, Nov. 10, at Crain's Detroit, located at 1155 Gratiot Ave.
The second panel will feature U.S. District Court Judge Nancy Edmunds, Eastern District of Michigan, and Wayne County Circuit Court Judge Robert Columbo. The discussion will take place from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. on Tuesday, Nov. 18, at Butzel Long located at 150 W. Jefferson Ave., Suite 100, in Detroit.
The discussions will be aimed at helping journalists better navigate the legal system.
