Michigan jobless rate 6.4 percent, down 0.3 points
LANSING (AP) - The state says Michigan's seasonally unadjusted unemployment rate has fallen 0.3 percentage points in the latest month to 6.4 percent.
The Michigan Department of Technology, Management & Budget released the October employment report Tuesday. The jobless rate was 6.7 percent in September and 8.2 percent in October 2013.
The department says October's unemployment rates ranged from a low of 4.1 percent in the Ann Arbor and the Holland-Grand Haven regions to a high of 8.1 percent in populous metropolitan Detroit.
The Detroit-area rate is unchanged from September and down from 8.9 percent in October 2013.
