Firm celebrates 160 years and its Detroit roots

In celebration of its 160th anniversary, Butzel Long has been honoring its Detroit roots throughout this year. On Thursday, Dec. 4, the firm hosted a private reception at the Detroit Institute of Arts. Guests had an opportunity to view the Modern Day Detroit in Photographs exhibit.

Butzel Long attorneys pictured include (left to right) James Wynne, Laura Johnson, Mike Golab, Robin Herrmann, Justin Klimko, Clara DeMatteis Mager, Dick Rassel, Dan Tukel, Linda Kennedy, Nick Stasevich, George Donnini, J. Scott Martin, Jim Rosenfeld, Dusan Vanek (law intern), Pat Dreisig, and Cynthia Haffey.

Butzel Long attorneys in attendance at the event who are not pictured are Stephen Bromberg, David DuMouchel, and Beth Gotthelf.

Also in celebration of its anniversary, Butzel Long hosted a private reception at a Detroit Symphony Orchestra event last month.

In addition, the firm sponsored the Belle Isle Aquarium Weathervane Design Competition. (Butzel Long’s ties to the Belle Isle Aquarium date back to 1899 when Leo Butzel’s cousin David Heineman introduced a bill to construct a combined aquarium and horticultural building in Belle Isle Park).

Butzel Long also hosted a PB&J Wine event to raise funds in support of Gleaners Community Food Bank.
