On Monday, Jan. 5, State Bar of Michigan President Thomas Rombach presented the keynote to WMU-Cooley's incoming class during the school's Professionalism in Action Orientation. The event was held at the school's Auburn Hills campus in conjunction with the State Bar of Michigan.
During his speech, Rombach discussed the challenges a law career can bring. He said being prepared, honest, and civil makes the experience rewarding, and he encouraged students to seek early and active involvement with local and state bar organizations to create networking opportunities and life-long friendships.
Additionally, to prepare students for issues they may face during their career, local attorneys and judges led small group discussions about professional conduct and ethical dilemmas.
