E-discovery model order focus of FBA seminar

The Federal Bar Association, Eastern District of Michigan Chapter, will present an "E-Discovery Model Order Seminar" on Tuesday, Feb. 10, from 11:30 a.m. to 1:45 p.m. in Room 115 of the Theodore Levin U.S. Courthouse in Detroit. Join FBA members for a fast paced update on the cutting edge of e-discovery practice and procedure, including how to efficiently handle e-discovery in litigation; how to avoid sanctions, spoliation, adverse inferences or dismissal; and a panel presentation by judicial officers who crafted the Eastern District of Michigan's recently approved "Model Order Relating to the Discovery of Electronically Stored Information" and "Checklist for Rule 26(f) Meet and Confer Regarding ESI." Attorneys practicing in the Eastern District will be expected to be familiar with the Model Order and with the requirement of electronic discovery, including meta-data, storage systems, retention obligations, advanced search techniques and "proportionality." Cost, which includes lunch, is $25 for FBA members and $35 for non-members. For additional information or to register online, visit www.fbamich.org and click on "events."
