EASTPOINTE (AP) - A 38-year-old man has been ordered to stand trial in the strangulation of his wife, their 2-year-old daughter and their 8-year-old son at their suburban Detroit home.
An Eastpointe district judge ruled Tuesday that there's enough evidence to try Timothy Fradeneck on first-degree murder and other charges. He remains jailed without bond and appears in Macomb County Circuit Court for a hearing June 15.
Police say Fradeneck used a USB cord April 13 to kill 37-year-old Christine Fradeneck, daughter Celeste and son Timothy. They say he tucked the bodies into their beds afterward.
Investigators say Fradeneck told them he planned to kill himself as well but failed. They report Fradeneck said he wanted his family dead "to spare them the heartache" of his death.
