The State Bar of Michigan presented “Lawyer Trust Accounts: Management Principles & Recordkeeping Resources” on Tuesday, June 16, at Western Michigan University Cooley Law School’s Auburn Hills campus. The seminar offered a way to learn more about Michigan Rules of Professional Conduct 1.15 and 1.15A.  Taking part in the seminar were (left to right) SBM Professional Standards Division Director Danon Goodrum-Garland, SBM Assistant General Counsel Nkrumah Johnson-Wynn, SBM Professional Standards Division Legal Secretary Karen Spohn, and Attorney Grievance Commission Senior Associate Counsel Rhonda Spencer Pozehl.  “We are here to chat with the participants about how they can avoid ethical pitfalls when managing their trust accounts,” said Johnson-Wynn.  “We offer this seminar three times a year,” added Goodrum-Garland.  “This is a unique seminar in that we offer a hands-on transactional recordkeeping piece that we think clearly helps our participants learn the ins and outs of keeping records properly.”
