The Debtor/Creditor Committee of the Oakland County Bar Association (OCBA) presented “Student Loans and You—A Guide to Managing your Education Debt” on Thursday, June 18, at the Oakland County Bar Center in Bloomfield Hills. The guest speaker was Erik C. Stein of Gallagher Sharp in Detroit. The seminar educated participants about the “ins and outs” of student loan adminstration, repayment, collection, and eligibility. Participants received a brief history of student loans and learned about the different types of student loans, the various repayment options, and the payment postponement alternatives.
