LANSING (AP) - Michigan's unemployment rate has held steady in the latest month at 5.5 percent, 1.6 points lower than a year earlier.
The state announced Wednesday that the seasonally adjusted jobless rate for June was identical with the rate in May. The U.S. rate fell 0.2 points to 5.3 percent in the latest month.
The Michigan Department of Technology, Management & Budget says the state's jobless rate has fallen from 7.1 percent in June 2014.
The department says the number of unemployed people in Michigan fell 3,000 in June to 261,000, while the state's civilian labor force shrank by 10,000 to 4.74 million.
