Three WCBA members win in SBM elections

Washtenaw County Bar Association member Erane C. Washington was one of four attorneys to win contested seats in this year's State Bar of Michigan Board of Commissioners elections. She will serve a three-year term expiring at the close of the 2018 Annual Meeting. The SBM Board of Commissioners provides oversight to the State Bar on finance, public policy, professional standards, and member services and communications.

A graduate of the University of Michigan Law School and Michigan State University, Washington is a member of the WCBA where she previously served as president and currently chairs the Bias Committee; and a member of the Michigan Women Lawyers Association, Hamilton Vanzetti Bar Association, American Bar Association and State Bar of Michigan.

Ashish S. Joshi and Elizabeth A. Kitchen-Troop won contested elections to represent Washtenaw County for the 22nd Circuit in the SBM Representative Assembly.

President-elect of the Washtenaw County Bar Association, Kitchen-Troop is an associate trial attorney with Kline Legal Group, PLC, in Ann Arbor, and handles family law matters. She earned her undergrad degree from U-M, and her J.D. from the University of Toledo College of Law.

Joshi, who earned his Master of Laws from the University of Michigan School of Law, is Managing Partner of Lorandos Joshi P.C. in Ann Arbor, and focuses his practice on white-collar criminal defense, complex commercial litigation, and cross-border litigation and dispute resolution. He also serves on the Board of Directors for the National Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers (NACDL), as the Executive Editor of the ABA journal Litigation and is co-chair for the WCBA Business Law Section.
