Summer Splash kicks off fund raising efforts

The New Lawyers Committee (NLC) of the Oakland County Bar Association will host its Summer Splash on Thursday, Aug. 27, from 6 to 8 p.m. at Duggan’s Irish Pub, 31501 Woodward Ave. in Royal Oak. The event kicks off the NLC’s fund raising efforts which will support Lakeshore Legal Aid Counsel and Advocacy Law Line this year.

The Counsel & Advocacy Law Line (CALL) is a division of Lakeshore Legal Aid which began operating in 1997. CALL works in partnership with Legal Services of Northern Michigan, Legal Services of South Central Michigan, and Legal Services of Western Michigan. It offers an attorney-staffed telephone advice, brief service, pro se and referral system serving low income and senior people throughout much of Michigan.

The Summer Splash will feature appetizers and a cash bar will be available. Cost of admission is a cash donation to Lakeshore Legal Aid Counsel and Advocacy Law Line.

To register for the event, contact Cat Neal at cneal@ocba.org or 248-334-3400.
