The Wayne County 35th District Court in Plymouth challenged the Oakland County 52-1 District Court in Novi to a game of softball on Tuesday, July 21, at Massey Field in Plymouth. Before the game, team members from both courts posed for a shot featuring (kneeling, left to right) Colleen, Renee, Alex, Jennifer, Kristen, Janelle, Alyssa, and Katelin; along with (standing, left to right) Chico the umpire, Paul, Robert, Tyler, Jen, Lauren, Mike, Randi, 35th District Court Chief Judge Pro Tem Michael Gerou, Todd, Andy, Anna, Steve, and Chris.  The 35th District won the game with a score of 19-9.  The team attributed its success to its inspiring James Brown cheer that it did during the game.  The 35th District was pleased to win after losing 9-2 to the 52-1 District at their last game in 2009.  After the game, both teams enjoyed refreshments at Herman’s Lowertown Grill where they discussed the possibility of another match before the end of summer.
