ANN ARBOR (AP) — The University of Michigan says it again has processed and reviewed a record number of freshman applications.
The Ann Arbor News reports the school had 51,760 applications for admission, a 4 percent increase over the previous year’s record of 49,731. This year’s total number of applications set a record for the University of Michigan for the ninth consecutive year.
The school says it offered admission to 13,577 prospective students and 6,242 people have paid enrollment deposits.
After some change their plans, the university says that it anticipates a fall 2015 freshman class of about 6,000 students on the Ann Arbor campus.
