Firm hosting symposium on multi-ethnic workplace

Dickinson Wright is pleased to announce that it will host the Asian Pacific American Chamber of Commerce (APACC) for a symposium on “The Opportunities and Challenges of a Multi-Ethnic Workplace” on Thursday, September 24, from 5 to 7 p.m. at Dickinson Wright’s Troy office, 2600 W. Big Beaver Road, Suite 300.

This symposium will explore an increasingly important topic for Asian-influenced international businesses located in the United States – How can a multi-ethnic workplace create opportunities for your company and what challenges do companies face as their workplaces evolve into a blending of diverse ethnicities?

Dickinson Wright attorney Mark V. Heusel will moderate a panel of experts featuring Tom Rouse, president of C&U Americas; Tamika Frimpong, associate general counsel for Nexteer; Larry Case, senior VP of Global HR for Key Safety; and Ben Wu, general counsel of Meridian Magneisum.

Participants will learn how to:

— Manage cultural and ethnic differences between employees, customers and decision-makers.
— Move your U.S. operations forward by taking advantage of your multi-ethnic workplace.
— Overcome barriers in approach, change and philosophy.
— Recognize cultural differences and use them to achieve success in your organization.

Complimentary admission is available to APACC members: Corporate & Enterprise.  Cost is $10 for APACC members: Entrepreneur, Non-Profit, Individual; and APACC Strategic Partners.  Future APACC members pay $20.
