Michigan Supreme Court Chief Justice Robert P. Young Jr. (second from left) was the keynote speaker at the Annual Public Policy Luncheon of the Citizens Research Council of Michigan (CRC-MI) on Friday, September 11, at the Troy Marriott. In his presentation, Young announced that nearly $14 million has been awarded to 122 courts statewide to fund the operation of drug, DWI, mental health, and veterans treatment court programs.  Happy to welcome Young to the event were (left to right) CRC-MI Chairman Terrry Donnelly of Dickinson Wright PLLC, CRC-MI President Eric Lupher, and State Bar of Michigan President Tom Rombach.  “These grant programs help problem-solving courts continue to do what they do best: save lives, save money, strengthen families, and build stronger communities,” said Young. “But what is even more important is the leadership provided by judges who are passionate about making a difference and committed to investing the time and effort needed to turn lives around.”
