On Friday, October 9, the Citizens Alliance for the Oakland County Probate and Circuit Courts will conduct a free seminar titled, “Removing the Mysteries of Probate Court” at the City of Farmington Hills Senior Division-Costick Center in Farmington Hills from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. This program is designed to enlighten and educate senior citizens and their families so that they may make informed decisions regarding their estate planning and understand the probate process. The Farmington Hills Senior Division is located in the Costick Center at 28600 Eleven Mile Road in Farmington Hills.
The seminar will provide attendees with information on wills, trusts, powers of attorney, how to begin probate proceedings, when to consider use of guardianships and conservatorships, and how “avoiding probate” could cause more harm than good.
Panelists will include Jill Koney Daly, probate register for the Oakland County Probate Court, and attorney James Lampertius from Lampertius & Associates PLC. Materials will be available and adequate time will be available for questions.
