October 23rd marked the conclusion of “30 Years in 30 ways,” a year-long campaign organized by Miller Canfield’s Kalamazoo Office in celebration of the firm’s 30 years in Kalamazoo. The campaign encouraged all employees to participate in a series of events held for the purpose of giving back to the community, in appreciation of its support over the last thirty years.
“We’re very pleased with the success of our 30th anniversary community volunteer campaign and appreciate everyone’s support,” said Danielle Mason Anderson, resident director of the Kalamazoo office. “We wanted to make a positive impact in our local community and work with organizations throughout Kalamazoo on a personal level, taking a hands-on approach to giving back.”
The year-long celebration kicked off with a .1K Walk in benefit of Southwest Michigan Hospice on September 23rd, 2014. The campaign garnered strong participation from Kalamazoo office employees, friends and family, as well as support from building tenants and community members.
For over a year, participants volunteered in various activities around the community, including collecting mittens, hats & scarves for “Mittens for Michigan”; non-perishable food items for WMU Student Food Bank; donating books to the Kalamazoo Literacy Council; and serving meals at Ministry with Community. The Campaign concluded with a Canned Food Collection Drive benefiting the Kalamazoo Gospel Mission, which took place October 12th-23th.
“Miller Canfield supports the cities where we make our home, whether Kalamazoo, Grand Rapids, Detroit, Chicago, or any other city …” said Mike McGee, CEO of Miller Canfield, “and what better way to celebrate our thirty year presence in Kalamazoo than by giving back to the community in appreciation.”
