Michigan State University College of Law dedicated its new entranceway – the Detroit College of Law Plaza – on Oct. 22. The Plaza, that features a granite seal noting DCL’s founding in 1891, honors the thousands of alumni who graduated from DCL before its affiliation with MSU in 1995. More than 100 attendees gathered for the event that included a reception in the John F. Schaefer Law Library. (l-r) Professor Emeritus Clark C. Johnson; Dean Joan Howarth; Linda Orlans, ’87, Chair, MSU College of Law Board of Trustees; Hon. Peter J. Lucido, ’88; Bryan Melvin, ’77, from the MSU Law Alumni Association; and MSU President Lou Anna K. Simon take part in the ribbon-cutting ceremony.
