Oakland County Board of Commissioners’ Chairman Michael J. Gingell announces the appointment of Adam Kochenderfer to the Oakland County Board of Commissioners. He was elected by members of the Oakland County Board of Commissioners to represent District #15 and will be sworn into office at the Rochester Hills City Hall, located at 1000 Rochester Hills Drive, Rochester Hills Michigan on Monday, Dec. 7.
Kochenderfer will represent the communities of the City of Rochester and a large portion of the City of Rochester Hills. He will complete the remaining term of former Oakland County Commissioner Jeff Matis, a Republican, who was appointed to the Oakland County Sixth Circuit Court by Michigan Governor Rick Snyder.
“Councilman Kochenderfer will be an asset to our board. I look forward to working with him as he begins to serve his district and the collective county,” stated Gingell.
“I am grateful for the opportunity to continue representing residents. Oakland County is a model across the nation, and I will work to preserve and strengthen that quality of life,” stated Kochenderfer.
Kochenderfer, a Republican, is a Rochester Hills City Council member and attorney for Wolfson Bolton PLLC. His term on the Oakland County Board of Commissioners will end December 31, 2016. He graduated with a law degree from the University of Michigan Law School. He received a Bachelor of Arts from Oakland University.
He was selected as one of “Michigan’s Rising Stars” and as a “Super Lawyer” by Super Lawyers magazine. He received L. Brooks Patterson’s “Elite 40 Under 40” Award, the Pro Bono Spirit Award from the Legal Aid and Defender Association and the Young Alumni of the Year Award from Oakland University.
His community service record includes serving on the Rochester Hill City Council from 2011 to present, founding the Kochenderfer Family Endowed Scholarship Fund and serving on the Executive Committee of the Oakland County Republican Party from 2008 to 2013. Kochenderfer currently serves on the Oakland University Alumni Association’s Board of Directors and is a member of the Oakland County Bar Association.
