LANSING (AP) - Nearly 346,000 Michigan residents have enrolled or re-enrolled in health insurance plans for 2016 through the HealthCare.gov marketplace.
The U.S. Department of Health & Human Services says that about 180,500 people in the Detroit area had selected or were automatically enrolled in plans. Nearly 70,000 in the Grand Rapids, Kalamazoo and Battle Creek areas also were in plans.
More than 31,000 people in the Flint, Saginaw and Bay City areas signed up for plans.
Open enrollment for 2016 coverage ended last week.
About 12.7 million people in the United States selected plans.
