The Federal Bar Association (FBA), Eastern District of Michigan Chapter, conducted the 2016 Wade Hampton McCree Jr. Award Luncheon on Wednesday, March 9, at the Westin Book Cadillac Hotel in Detroit. This year’s keynote speaker and McCree Award recipient was former U.S. Senator Carl Levin (center).  Happy to congratulate Levin were (left to right) U.S. District Court Chief Judge Denise Page Hood, Eastern District of Michigan, and FBA President Kimberly  Altman.  The Wade H. McCree Jr. Award for the Advancement of Social Justice honors individuals or organizations who have made significant contributions to the advancement of social justice.  Levin, who served in the U.S. Senate for 36 years, is now senior counsel with Honigman, Miller, Schwartz, and Cohn LLP.  Wayne State University created the Levin Center at Wayne Law, named in honor of Levin.  He serves as chair of the Levin Center and as Distinguished Legislator in Residence at Wayne Law.
