On Tuesday, May 17, the Citizens Alliance for the Oakland County Probate and Circuit Courts will be conducting another session of the free seminar titled “Removing the Mysteries of Probate Court” in conjunction with Birmingham Next (formerly Birmingham Area Senior Citizens Center) from 6 to 8 p.m. This program is designed to enlighten and educate senior citizens and their families so that they may make informed decisions regarding their estate planning and understand the probate process. Birmingham Next is located at 2121 Midvale Avenue in Birmingham.
The seminar will include topics such as wills, trusts, and powers of attorney, and will provide useful information on how to begin probate proceedings, when to consider use of guardianships and conservatorships, and how “avoiding probate” could cause more harm than good.
Panelists will include Jill Koney Daly, probate register for the Oakland County Probate Court, and attorney Diana Moak from Pugh Moak PC in Bloomfield Hills. Materials will be available and adequate time will be available for questions.
