DETROIT (AP) - An initiative dubbed "Catapult" seeks to boost southeastern Michigan nonprofits by offering small grants.
The Community Foundation for Southeast Michigan is inviting nonprofits with annual budgets of under $500,000 to apply for five grants of $7,500.
Those involved say there's a simple application process. The Catapult Steering Committee, which includes entrepreneurs from southeastern Michigan, will select a group of semifinalists who pitch their ideas to the group. Grant recipients also get coaching.
Applications are due June 1. Details are posted online.
The Community Foundation promotes community philanthropy in Wayne, Oakland, Macomb, Monroe, Washtenaw, Livingston and St. Clair counties.
