On Wednesday, July 20, members of the Oakland County Board of Commissioners presented a proclamation to honor Beth Morrison (center) for her years of leadership and service as HAVEN’s president/CEO. Happy to recognize Morrison in the Oakland County Board of Commissioners’ Auditorium in Pontiac were (left to right) Oakland County Commissioners Thomas F. Middleton and Helaine Zack, Oakland County Executive L. Brooks Patterson, and Oakland County Health and Human Services Director George Miller. Morrison has worked tirelessly to eliminate violence against women and children and will be retiring from HAVEN. She has been serving as HAVEN’s president/CEO since 2004 and has been with the organization since 2003. For more than 30 years, Morrison has concentrated her career on the issues of domestic violence, sexual assault, and child abuse. Her expertise is derived from having worked as a counselor, advocate, community educator, clinical supervisor, shelter manager, and finally as an administrator.
