U.S. District Court Judge Gerald Rosen,?Eastern District of Michigan, will receive the Alvin Foon Humanitarian Award from the Michigan Jewish Sports Foundation (MJSF) on Tuesday, Sept. 27.
The awards ceremony will take place at the Jewish Community Center in West Bloomfield as part of the 2016 Hall of Fame Induction event that evening.
“The Alvin Foon Humanitarian Award was established to honor the memory of one of the MJSF founders and is presented to an individual or individuals for outstanding contributions to athletics and the community,” said Sari Cicurel of the MJSF.

A graduate of George Washington University Law School, Rosen earned his bachelor’s degree from Kalamazoo College, where he was a key member of the varsity tennis team that has been a perennial power. At Oak Park High School, Rosen earned All-State honors at No. 1 singles.
