DETROIT (AP) - A man who helped an armored car company employee steal more than a half-million dollars from a truck parked outside Detroit's Greektown Casino has been sentenced to about three years in prison.
The Detroit News reports 23-year-old Brandon Jackson of Detroit received the sentence Tuesday in U.S. District Court. He and David Troupe pleaded guilty in June to bank fraud.
Prosecutors say Jackson and Troupe split the $578,000 stolen during the Nov. 27 theft. Federal Judge Mark Goldsmith says about $400,000 remains missing.
Jackson has no criminal record. He apologized to his family during sentencing.
Troupe's sentencing was supposed to be Wednesday but it's been adjourned to an as-yet unscheduled date.
Troupe's attorney, Leon Weiss, says Troupe has no criminal record and the crime represented a lapse in judgment.
