Bankruptcy judge welcomed

U.S. Bankruptcy Court Judge Maria L. Oxholm (center), Eastern District of Michigan, was officially welcomed to the federal bench during an investiture ceremony Thursday, Nov, 10, at the Theodore Levin U.S. Courthouse in Detroit. During the ceremony, U.S. Court of Appeals Judge Eric L. Clay (right) administered the oath and U.S. District Court Chief Judge Denise Page Hood (left) opened and closed the ceremony.  On July 1, 2016, the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Eighth Circuit appointed Oxholm as a U.S. Bankruptcy Judge for the Northern District of Iowa, effective August 18, 2016.  Pursuant to a Memorandum of Understanding, Bankruptcy Judge Vacancy Pilot Program entered into between the Judicial Councils of the Eighth Circuit and the Sixth Circuit, Oxholm will have a duty station in Detroit and will sit as a bankruptcy judge in the U.S. Bankruptcy Court for the Eastern District of Michigan. Prior to her federal appointment, Oxholm served as a judge for Wayne County Circuit Court.
