Second- and third-year students working in Wayne State University Law School’s clinics for winter semester 2017 participated in a swearing-in ceremony on Wednesday, January 11. Marilyn Kelly (photo on right, right), Wayne Law class of 1971, retired Michigan Supreme Court justice, Wayne Law’s distinguished jurist in residence and WSU Board of Governors member, administered the oath. Speaking at the event were Wayne Law Interim Associate Dean Susan Cancelosi and alumna Sherry D.O. Taylor (photo on right, left), Wayne Law class of 2001, a member of Dickinson Wright and the firm’s pro bono coordinator. Wayne Law’s clinics integrate theory and practice for law students while helping real clients. Wayne Law offers several live-client experiential learning opportunities, including: Asylum and Immigration Law Clinic, Civil Rights Clinic, Criminal Appellate Practice Clinic, Legal Advocacy for People with Cancer Clinic, Patent Procurement Clinic, and Transnational Environmental Law Clinic.
