Panel looks at transgender rights

On Wednesday, Jan. 18, three Wayne State University Law School student organizations hosted a panel discussion on the current state of transgender rights in the United States. The event was sponsored by Wayne OUTlaws, the Wayne Law chapter of If/When/How, and Wayne Law’s American Civil Liberties Union, Student Chapter. Taking part in the Transgender Rights Panel at Wayne Law were (left to right) Shareece McCauley, second-year law student and vice president of the Black Law Students Association; Jessica Soblesky, second-year law student and member of the Keith Students for Civil Rights; panelist Jay Kaplan, Wayne Law class of 1985, LGBT Legal Project staff attorney for the American Civil Liberties Union of Michigan; panelist Lilianna Angel Reyes, program services director for Affirmations; and Danny King, second-year law student and co-president of Wayne OUTlaws.
