Tech talk for legal, medical professions

The Oakland County Bar Association (OCBA) and the Oakland County Medical Society (OCMS) presented a conference designed to bring together both doctors and lawyers to address the opportunities and challenges presented by today’s medical technology. “The Power of Technology in the Physician Practice” took place Friday, March 31, at the Bloomfield Open Hunt Club. Among those taking part in the conference were (left to right) OCBA Medical/Legal Committee Chair Monica Navarro of Vezina Law PLLC; Daniel Beyer of Kerr, Russell, & Weber PLC; OCMS Executive Director Cindy Dady; Wes Reynolds of Netsource One Inc.; and Catherine Edwards and Patrick Haddad of Kerr, Russell, & Weber PLC. “This is the first joint program between the OCBA Medical/Legal Committee and the Oakland County Medical Society,” Navarro noted. “It tackles a very timely issue—and that is the use of technology in the physcian practice. It addresses the legal framework as well as practical and medical implications and needs for today’s medical practices.”
