Adding ADR to legal wheelhouse a good move for practitioners

Taking a case to trial can be a long and sometimes financially imprudent process for a client. Incorporating alternative dispute resolution (ADR) into a law practice can save costs and time—all to the client’s benefit. The Oakland County Bar Association Alternative Dispute Resolution Committee is pleased to present a seminar on the advantages of using ADR in a law practice.

“ADR: Is It in Your Wheelhouse?” takes place on Tuesday, May 2, at 6 p.m. at the Oakland County Bar Association,1760 South Telegraph Road in Bloomfield Hills.

This program will feature Oakland County Circuit Court Judge Shalina D. Kumar who will present the judge’s perspective on the benefits of ADR, including dos and don’ts for new lawyers.

Attorney Daniel D. Quick of Dickinson Wright PLLC will discuss how to utilize ADR models in litigation practice and tips for facilitations, mediations and case evaluations.

Attorney Richard L. Hurford of Dispute Resolution Services will outline how to make ADR a business practice, including where to get experience and how to set up your facilitation and mediation practice.
Attorney Pamela Monville of the Civil/Criminal Division Oakland County Circuit Court will moderate.
