State welcomes defense mission

The Israeli Ministry of Defense — International Defense Cooperation Directorate (SIBAT), Michigan Israel Business Bridge (MIBB) and State of Michigan Economic Development Corp (MEDC) Defense Center led a formal Defense Industrial mission to the state of Michigan between April 23-26. Butzel Long attorney Beth Gotthelf (center), president of MIBB, was instrumental in bringing the mission to Michigan. Also taking part in an April 24 program at Velocity in Sterling Heights that was part of the mission were (left to right) Brigadier General Michael A. Stone, assistant adjutant general for Installations, Michigan Army National Guard; and Butzel Long Shareholder Ira Hoffman. The delegation included approximately 12 leading defense companies with top technology and solutions in the field of defense and homeland security. The goal of this first-ever visit was to strengthen the cooperation between the Israeli MOD and the defense authorities within the state of Michigan and to support Israeli and U.S. companies to share technology and perform joint production in the U.S.
