The American Bar Association Law Practice Division has published a new book, “Trust Accounting in One Hour for Lawyers,” which is tailored to provide lawyers with the tips and tricks to make managing lawyer trust accounts understandable, accurate and compliant with ethics rules.
This how-to book will quickly guide lawyers from opening a trust account to properly using it and providing precise, timely accountings to clients.
Author Sheila M. Blackford, an experienced practice management advisor, shares commonsense advice to help busy lawyers and their staff safely and sanely adopt best practices and avoid ethical violations.
Blackford has been a practice management adviser for the Oregon State Bar Professional Liability Fund since 2005, and is an adjunct faculty member at the University of Oregon School of Law, teaching Law Practice Management.
