Robin Wagner Joins Civil and Employment Rights Law Firm Pitt McGehee Palmer & Rivers

Robin Wagner has joined Royal Oak, Mich. law firm Pitt McGehee Palmer & Rivers. The announcement was made by firm co-founding partner Cary McGehee.

“We’re pleased to announce that Robin has joined our law firm,” said McGehee. “She is a talented attorney with a remarkable and varied professional background.”

Prior to joining the firm, Wagner served in federal courts as law clerk for the Hon. Judith E. Levy in the Eastern District of Michigan and the Hon. Michael H. Dolinger in the Southern District of New York.

Before she became an attorney, Wagner served as associate dean, dean and vice president at several universities. In those positions, she was responsible for curriculum development, directed foreign study programs in Asia and conducted strategic planning activities at the University of Chicago.

In addition, Wagner developed educational programs at Chicago’s Field Museum of Natural History.

The Baltimore native graduated summa cum laude from DePaul University College of Law in 2014 with a certificate in public interest law. Wagner was also a member of the Order of the Coif, a national law school honor society.

While in law school, Wagner received a scholarship from the Lesbian and Gay Bar Association of Chicago to serve an internship at Lambda Legal, a national organization committed to achieving full recognition of civil rights for lesbians, gay men, transgender people and everyone living with HIV.

In addition, she was awarded a scholarship from the Public Interest Law Association of Chicago to intern at the American Civil Liberties Union of Illinois.

Wagner was also on the staff of the DePaul Law Review and author of “Are Gay Rights Clearly Established? The Problem with the Qualified Immunity Doctrine,” which was published in the law review.                                                               

She holds an undergraduate degree in East Asian Studies from Princeton University. Wagner earned a Ph.D. in East Asian Languages and Civilizations from Harvard University.  She is fluent in Mandarin.Wagner and her wife, Sharon, reside in Ann Arbor.
