Program to explore 'Representing a Medical Practice' on July 12

The Small Business Forum of the State Bar of Michigan’s Business Law Section will conduct a program specialized in representing a medical practice.  “Representing a Medical Practice: Issues & Challenges in an Evolving Industry” will take place on Wednesday, July 12, from 5:30 to 8 p.m. at Columbia Center, 201 West Big Beaver Road in Troy. Registration, food, and drinks start at 5:30 p.m., followed by the program at 6 p.m.

Mark Rossman of Rossman Saxe PC will cover basic issues including S Corp v. PLLC; basic compensation models, e.g. equal v. productivity-based; issues in connection with bringing in a new shareholder; and issues in connection with the retirement or separation of a shareholder.

Randi Hermiz, of Law Office of Randi Hermiz PLC, will discuss ancillary ventures, e.g. participation in medical office building, lab, imaging, etc.; and Stark, anti-kickback.
John Anderson, of Giarmarco, Mullins, and Horton PC, will tackle Accountable Care Organizations (ACOs) and the Merit Based Incentive Program (MIPS).
