Attorney participated in Make-A-Wish Foundation's bicycle tour this summer

On July 27, Michael P. Salhaney, a partner located in Secrest Wardle’s Troy office, and member of the firm’s Municipal, Family Law, and Governmental Litigation Practice Groups, began a three-day, 300 mile bicycle ride as a part of the Make-A-Wish Foundation of Michigan’s Wish-A-Mile (WAM) Bicycle Tour.

Salhaney rode from Traverse City to the Michigan International Speedway on behalf of a Wish Hero named Zachary. He kept the struggles Zachary has endured in mind throughout his journey.

Since 1998, Salhaney has proudly supported the Make-A-Wish Foundation. He previously served the organization as Food Committee chairman. The Make-A-Wish Foundation of Michigan supports children with life-threatening medical conditions in an effort to help them and their families with Hope, Strength and Joy during their illnesses. Granting wishes supports the children and their families to improve their quality of life.  For more information about the organization or to donate, please visit the Make-A-Wish Foundation of Michigan’s website.

Each week throughout the year, Secrest Wardle employees in all three of the firm’s office locations have the option to participate in “Casual Fridays.”  In exchange for a $5 cash donation, business casual attire is permitted. Employees are encouraged to suggest charities for sponsorship. The firm has devoted three “Casual Fridays” in 2017 to raising funds for Salhaney’s passion. Including the firm’s efforts, over $2,400,000 was raised for the Make-A-Wish Foundation of Michigan through the WAM Bicycle Tour. In 2016, Secrest Wardle served as a corporate sponsor of the WAM Bicycle Tour.
