Team wins softball championship

On August 8, the Pepper Hamilton softball team won the championship game in the Detroit Legal Softball League. Posing with the trophy after winning the league championship are Pepper softball team members (front row, left to right) Katie Kerr, Tiffany Quandt, and Amy Zimmerman; along with (back row, left to right) Ryan Torgerson, Tom Witter, Courtney Witter, Kurt Kissling, Matt Gaabo, Michael Yanska, Katie Strickfaden, Tyler Richardson, and Chelsea Richardson.  The co-ed summer softball league, formerly known as the Detroit Legal News Downtown Baseball League, has crowned a champion since 1984. The league currently competes at Jayne Field in Detroit, but previously played at Belle Isle. According to team captain Kurt Kissling, Pepper Hamilton celebrated its 3rd league championship since 2011. The team and other Pepper Hamilton office staff members celebrated the victory with a picnic and softball game at Inglenook Park in Southfield on August 27.
