“Violence, Accountability and Restoration: A Conversation with Danielle Sered” is set for 9 to 10:30 a.m., Thursday, Oct. 12, in the Mackinac Room, 5th floor, Cora Anderson House Office Building, 124 N. Capitol Ave., Lansing. Light refreshments will be served.
Danielle Sered is a crime survivor, Rhodes Scholar, author, and criminal justice innovator. She is the creator of Common Justice, a restorative justice diversion program, in collaboration with the Brooklyn District Attorney's Office.
Sered generates solutions to violence that meet the needs of those harmed, advance racial equity, and do not rely on incarceration.
This free event is organized by: Citizens Alliance on Prisons and Public Spending, Friends of Restorative Justice of Washtenaw County, American Friends Service Committee Michigan Criminal Justice Program, University of Michigan Gerald R. Ford School, and Michigan Council on Crime and Delinquency.
