Financial concerns of solo and small firm lawyers to be discussed

The Oakland County Bar Association continues its Law Practice Management Series with a seminar covering law firm finances.

“Money Matters” will explore common financial concerns that must be addressed in order to run a profitable and ethical law practice. Western Michigan University Cooley Law School Professor and Auxilliary Dean Martha Denning and Brenda M. Orlando will cover topics including accounting software, proper billing, and avoiding pitfalls with IOLTA accounts. The seminar takes place at the OCBA offices on Tuesday, Nov. 28, at 6 p.m.

The Law Practice Management seminars are $30 each for OCBA attorney members and $40 for non-members. New lawyers, students and paralegals can enroll for $25 per seminar. Register online at www.ocba.org/events. Pre-registration is recommended since seating is limited; however, walk-ins are welcome.

The OCBA offices are located at 1760 South Telegraph Road, Suite 100, in Bloomfield Hills.
