Walsh College will host a book signing and meet-the-author event on Thursday, March 8, at 5 p.m. at the Troy campus Student Center.
Professor Richard Chasdi, faculty member and author of “Corporate Security Crossroads: Responding to Terrorism, Cyberthreats, and other Hazards in the Global Business Environment,” will be on-site to comment on his book and sign copies for attendees.
“Corporate Security Crossroads” examines the complex relationship between multinational corporations and the risks of terrorism and cyberattacks. In his book, Chasdi highlights the risks for multi-national companies and the global and regional factors that influence violence toward American-based businesses. Through two case studies, Chasdi demonstrates how counterterrorism can be used to stop potential attacks on businesses. He then provides readers with a counterterror playbook with his specific recommendations for preventing an attack.
“Terrorism is an unfortunate reality that businesses of all sizes around the globe are faced with today,” Chasdi said. “It is important to be prepared for potential terrorist events by knowing the environment you’re operating in, strategizing for various situations, leveraging data to make informed decisions, and working together with other organizations and governments to minimize risks. This book is an applicable resource for business owners to leverage in an effort to be prepared for—and prevent—the worst-case scenario of an attack.”
The book has been billed as an important resource for new research on how multi-national corporations can deal with the impact of terrorism and instill measures to prevent terrorism from occurring.
The signing event is complimentary and open to the public. Copies of “Corporate Security Crossroads” will be available to purchase for $30.
